This is all an ideal situation if you actually have a table that can extend to fit the whole family. One benefit of a pedestal table is that you can get chairs all the way around, even on the corners.. You imagine spending this Thanksgiving with your extended family around the table with turkey, mashed potatoes and all that goes with the wonderful celebration. So then you remember to go get the leaf out of storage to extend the table. Then it dawns on you, we can't all fit at this table.

You may notice a little wobble with tables that have a pedestal; that is normal as long as there isn't a whole lot of play when you feel it move.
